The Codex Alimentarius Treaty

The USA and Canada adopted Codex Alimentarius Treaty (CAT) as the law of the land during 2006. At that time, Codex Alimentarius is on schedule to completely eliminate all natural therapies and supplements by December 31, 2009. Fortunately, their plans have been delayed. However, history has proven the Codex Alimentarius Committee is relentless, has billions of dollars to spend in their cause, and always regroups after a minor setback. For current information about Codex Alimentarius, I recommend you check out the Natural Solutions Foundation website Health Freedom USA on a regular basis. This is the most reliable source for truthful information about Codex Alimentarius (Codex) and the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC).

The purpose of the Codex Alimentarius Treaty is to join the countries of the world together to protect the health of food consumers of the world and ensure fair trade practices in the international food trade. The CAC is the authoritative body within the United Nations to implement and enforce the rules and regulations for this purpose.

Implementation is done by a vote of the members of the Commission. Enforcement is accomplished by the United Nations under the direction and command of the CAC.

More Information about the Codex Alimentarius Commission

The CAT gives the CAC complete control of 1. food labeling, 2. food additives, 3. food hygiene, 4. contaminants in foods, 5. food safety, and 6. the methods of analyzing foods and food crops.

1. Food labeling is a complex set of regulations that allows the CAC to determine what claims can be made for food and food products and how nutrition can be labeled. In the last 20 years, the CAC has determined that all foods are toxic and have no health benefit other than energizing the body. The CAC subscribes to the theory that only pharmaceuticals can cure anything and only pharmaceutical and food processing companies manufacture healthy food products. (The actual science behind these decisions is flawed and self-serving in the opinion of the Natural Therapies Coach Workshops (NTCW) and several consumer health groups.)

For this reason farmers and farmer groups can no longer advertise their food crops as naturally healthy nor identify the health benefits of eating natural foods. For this reason organic crop farmers, processors and resellers cannot advertise the health benefits of organic crops versus the effect of toxic chemicals in non-organic food crops. Therefore, many of these groups add the specified (toxic) chemicals to their food products and advertise them as being "healthy."

2. Food additives have changed drastically since the CAT has become the law of the land. Many labels like spices, natural spices, flavoring, natural flavorings, sweetened, vitamin and natural can now be used to conceal the presence of toxic chemicals and genetically modified foods.

For this reason the food processing industry has the power and authority to add toxic appetite enhancers to encourage people to eat more of their product. "Natural flavorings" can now include specific (toxic) petrochemicals without consumer notification. Products "sweetened" with fruit juice and raw sugar can also contain genertically modified corn and sugar beet syrup (both are toxic and fattening) without further labeling requirements. Synthetic (toxic) vitamins can be added to any food and labeled as the vitamin without further explanation. All of these toxic chemicals are extremely profitable and more economical to use that their natural and non-toxic counterparts.

3. Food hygiene has also changed drastically. Food crops are treated with rodenticides to kill mice and rats, herbicides to kill weed seeds, fungicides to kill molds and fungus, live viruses to kill bacteria, insecticides to kill insects, and pesticides to kill other small invaders like worms and spiders. These products also kill humans but the process is much slower because we're so much bigger -- and getting bigger all the time. Many food crops are also gamma wave irradiated to kill anything the petrochemicals missed including viruses and any enzymes left in the food.

Since the 1970's food hygiene does not include the removal of rodent urine, feces and hair, and dead worms, insects, spiders, fungi, molds, bacteria, viruses or the petrochemicals used to kill these things. Evidently protein is protein and fiber is fiber in the CAC's opinion.

4. Contaminants in foods has also been redefined over the past thirty to fifty years. We no longer consider petrochemicals as the toxic chemicals they are. Codex has convinced us that it's for our own protection that food is treated with petrochemicals. All of the dead remains of living organisms killed by the petrochemicals are legally no longer contaminants under the CAT. Natural food supplements, herbs, vitamins and minerals are defined as contaminants by Codex.

5. Food safety has been redefined to require the use of petrochemicals. Natural organic foods, vitamins, minerals and supplments are considered toxic by Codex; and petrochemical laden foods are "safe." Animals raised for human consumption are fed a variety of synthetic (toxic) hormones and veterinary drugs to fatten them quickly, antibiotics and petrochemical-laden feeds to keep them "healthy." This is the Codex mandate in spite of the fact research clearly shows these chemicals and antibiotics enter the meat and are consumed by humans and pets.Such research is dismissed by the CAC as "flawed." (NTCW considers the science behind all of these Codex concepts to be flawed.)

6. Food analysis is a subject so shrouded in secrecy it's difficult to know the truth. Foods with no living enzymes as measuered by independent laboratories are labeled as "healthy" and contain a long list of benefits. As a rule of thumb, no enzymes = no benefits. We can only imagine at what other food processes are being used to make the resulting product "Healthy." The fact is that without full disclosure we don't know. But in the opinion of NTCW what we don't know may not be healthy for us.

For these reasons several consumer groups are waging war on the Codex Alimentarius Treaty and Commission. The most successful of these groups is Health Freedom USA. This group started in New York, moved to Panama and is currently incorporated in Missouri. They were literally forced out of America by the CAC, US FDA, FTC and organizations controlling them or under the contol of these groups.
